You might have noticed that Short Long Black Coffee have given their storefront an autumn makeover with a rather cosy lick of umber red paint to match the fallen leaves in Queenâs Park. And the Transylvania cafe have dusted off their Christmas decorations.
The darkest days of the year are still ahead of us, now is the right time to get outside and enjoy orange and reddish browns of the leaves outside accompanied by a pumpkin spice latte (while theyâre still in season).

đ Community-led organisation Loco Home Retrofit wins award. Last week Loco Home Retrofit won the Gamechanger award during the BE-ST Accelerate to Net Zero 2023 awards ceremony. The team are known for making retrofit more accessible for local people in Glasgow. They announced their win yesterday on social media. đ
đ Councillors call for Cathcart Circle line to be reinstated to pre-pandemic levels. Their call comes after ScotRail announced timetable changes in December will nearly double the number of services calling at Langside, Pollokshaws East, Shawlands, Maxwell Park and Pollokshields West. đ˘ Govanhill Baths Trust are hiring. The Trust are looking for a new Arts and Heritage Programme Manager (part time role) to manage diverse creative projects. They will assist with implementing plans to develop the Baths into a Wellbeing Centre with a dedicated Heritage, Arts and Activist Space. More details available here. đ˘
đˇ Simon Murphyâs Govanhill exhibition gets 5* reviews. Accolades continue to fly in for Simon Murphyâs âportrait of a placeâ with this latest review from the List. The exhibition is on at Street Level Photoworks until January and shouldnât be missed.đˇ
