How Govanhill is tackling gambling harms, a review of Channel 4 doc: Go Back to Where You Came From, Mhairi Hunter announced as Govanhill's new councillor, the neighbourhood happenings and more!
Hello,
Mikael here from the Greater Govanhill team. Currently sitting in a wooly jumper and wearing suncream because the warm & cold weather seems to be keeping us all on our toes! We’ve been working hard in the Newsroom as we start piecing together our next issue of the Greater Govanhill Magazine. There are some really lovely pieces of writing coming in for this edition, which is about all things digital, and we are so excited to share the finished publication with you in May.
We are currently in the final week of our 5th birthday membership campaign, and we’re so happy to have reached just over 30 new members! Thank you to everyone who has signed up. However, we are still a ways away from our target of 100 new members by April, and we need your help to get there.
New membership subscriptions are crucial for us here at Greater Govanhill, as they help us to continue to write, create, connect, and support our communities. If you are able to, our membership starts from as little as £4 per month (or £1 a week) and with every subscription, we are able to spend less time keeping the lights on and more time getting out there and connecting with our neighbourhood.
As a member, you also receive some nice perks, including:
⭐️ A copy of the mag delivered to your door.
⭐️ Access to exclusive monthly members events & meet-ups.
⭐️ Added into our new members WhatsApp group, where you have the opportunity to become an ambassador for the mag.
⭐️ Exclusive bi-monthly updates about how your membership is helping to support us and where your money is going!
