This week in Govanhill, we're celebrating Ramadan, Nowruz and Holi!
What are these celebrations, how are they spent and how can you celebrate with family and friends?
This month has been busy - in all the best ways. In between planning for the next magazine, the team have been out delivering magazines across the Southside while battling the harsh weather (so much for the Spring equinox!). Last Friday me and Devon packed the wee blue trolley with eight boxes of magazines and stocked up Shawlands, topped up the Tramway and handed out some mags to a few curious passers-by. You’ll find them in all the usual spots; cafes, libraries and community spaces.
We also published an article about Ramadan, Nowruz and Holi. It’s always great to see our content reflect the diversity of the Southside and learn more about other celebrations.
On Friday I attended one of the community Iftar meals organised by Bowling Green Together. It was lovely to end the week being able to break fast with the local community. And there was no shortage of pilau or fruit chaat which made things even better.
