Scottish-Pakistani Tape Letters exhibition launches this weekend Tramway
Plus: hirings, hellos, heritage - and the October edition of Greater Govanhill mag.
Hello,
I hope you’re very well. The leaves are turning golden-brown, the nights are drawing in. It’s well and truly autumn - and that can only mean one thing.
New Magazine Klaxon
Yes, October’s issue of Greater Govanhill is out next week (!) Pick up a copy in your local café, shop, or from our community newsstand for free, as always. Our latest issue if the perfect accompaniment to a warming cup of tea as we head into colder days. In this issue, we focus on answering your questions and spotlighting the topics you want to read about, as part of our ongoing community listening project.
Speaking of which… our community listening survey is still open for responses. Visit greatergovanhill.com/listening to share your views and be in with the chance of winning a cool £50.
And, on all things new, hello (again). I am - as of September - Greater Govanhill’s new editorial assistant. I’m extremely happy to be here, and intend to do my best to make the magazine work for you. Questions? Ideas? Your friend has a show down the road? Drop me an email (james@greatergovanhill.com), or come by the newsroom on Bowman Street.
Otherwise, read on, for pipers, placements, parks, and much, much more.
Yours,
James

Scottish-Pakistani Tape Letters exhibition launches this Saturday, in Tramway’s Greater Govanhill Community Canvas space
We’re particularly excited about this one: the launch of Tape Letters in our exhibition space in the upper foyer of the Tramway. The show will run from 13 October - 31st January 2025, with a preview this Saturday 12 October.
