A multimillion-pound investment is being proposed to transform the derelict space underneath the M74 into a vibrant urban sports park, featuring an area for sports, relaxation, and community gatherings.
Glasgow Urban Sport is inviting residents and local organisations to the Community Newsroom to hear more about the plans to reimagine the space. It’s also a chance to enjoy a drink and meet fellow community members.
The information session is taking place tomorrow (Tuesday 29 October) from 6:30-8pm and is important to help shape the project and ensure it meets the needs of future users. The session will also offer an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on the proposed design.
Part of the transformation is intended to connect the local neighbourhoods; Gorbals, Eglinton Toll, Govanhill, and Pollokshields.
The Devon Street Urban Park wouldn’t only provide a space for sports but it’s intended to be an inclusive and safe space for intergenerational activity and reflection with trees, artwork and seating.
Join Glasgow Urban Sport on Tuesday, 6:30-8pm for refreshments and a chat at the Community Newsroom to hear more about the plans and engage in a community conversation.
